<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To produce a high-quality color filter even when the frame part of the color filter is narrowed by lowering ink discharge density in an initial stage at the beginning of discharging ink in a scanning direction. SOLUTION: This color filter is produced by discharging the ink to a base plate while making an ink jet head relatively scan the base plate, and coloring respective picture elements. The ink discharge density in the initial stage at the beginning of discharging the ink is made low every picture element line arranged in a direction nearly orthogonal to the scanning direction. When specified driving pulses are supplied to the heater 102 of the ink jet head, the ink on the heater 102 is boiled to form air bubbles, then the ink is pushed out and discharged from a discharge port 108 by the cubical expansion of the air bubble. Therefore, by controlling the driving pulse applied to the heater 102, for example, controlling power, the size of the air bubble is adjusted and the volume of the ink discharged from the discharge port is freely controlled.</p> |
