PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject new antibody comprising a monoclonal antibody of IgM class specific to an antigen derived from human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) and useful as a reference sample, etc., in producing inspection kid for detecting an antibody against the microbial pathogen. SOLUTION: This anti-HIV antibody comprises a new monoclonal antibody of IgM class specific to antigen gp41 derived from HIV subtype 0 containing a peptide epitope having the formula, and as necessary, in which cysteine residue may form cystine bridge, and is useful as reference sample, etc., of inspection kid for detection of an antibody against the microbial pathogen. The monoclonal antibody is obtained by immunizing a substance obtained by binding a peptide of gp41 subtype 0 to a carrier protein in the presence of an adjuvant into abdominal cavity of 12 weak aged Ba1b/c mouse, collecting the spleen cells after final immunity, fusing the spleen cells with a myeloma cell, selecting an antibody-producing strain from the fused cell, cloning the cell and culturing the cell. |
