PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the contamination of a device without disturbing the proper operation of a fixing means by regulating the pressing surface and the carrying surfaces, respectively, when an image receiving carrier both surfaces of which are fixed is passed first and second. SOLUTION: When an image receiving carrier is passed first fixing rollers 23, 24 are separated, and isolated from the image receiving carrier by adjustable image receiving carrier guide means 25, 26. Consequently, a separating solution does not reach the image receiving carrier, so that no other contaminant is released from the image receiving carrier. In the second passing, a pair of carrying rollers 35 are situated in non-operating position by mutually separating them. Therefore, the carrying rollers 35 never make contact with the image receiving carrier passing between them. Thus, this device is never contaminated with the separating solution applied to the image receiving carrier in fixation or the material released from the image receiving carrier in fixation. |
