摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thermal transfer image receiving material in which image failure is not caused by a foreign matter such as refuse and to provide the image receiving material which is suitable to heat-mode recording for performing recording in such a state that the image receiving material is stuck to the recording material at a high degree in particular. SOLUTION: The thermal transfer image receiving material is constituted so that at least a cushioning layer 12 and an image receiving layer 14 are laminated in this order on one side of a substrate 11 and a back coat layer 15 is provided on the other side thereof. In this case, the suction pressure of the back coat layer is regulated to >=300mmHg. Further, the back coat layer contains at least a binder resin and a matted material and sticking amount of the matted material having >=8&mu;m particle size is regulated to >=5mg/m<2> . The ratio of standard deviation of particle size distribution of the matted material to a number average particle size is <=0.02 and the surface specific resistance of the back coat layer is <=2&times;10<9> &Omega;/cm<2> . Such conditions are satisfied that carbon black and a metallic oxide are contained in the back coat layer.
