PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the generation of a shape defect such as deformation or chipping of a bulkhead and enhance luminous efficiency by forming the side surface of the bulkhead constituting a discharge display cell into a recessed round form so as to enclose the emission discharge part, seen from the display surface of a plasma display. SOLUTION: A plasma display PDP 1 has a plurality of electrodes 4 between opposed insulating plates 2, and a number of discharge display cells 5 are formed by the electrodes 4 and a bulkhead 3 for partitioning the space of the opposed insulating plates 2. The side surface 8 of the bulkhead 3 is arranged with a roundness 9, seen from the display surface 6 of a PDP, so as to surround an emission discharge part 7 having the intersection 10 of the opposed electrodes performing a main discharge as the center. This roundness 9 is desirably formed of a circular arc having a curvature radius 11 of, for example, 30-35μm with the intersection 10 of the opposed electrodes 4 performing the main discharge as the center. On the other hand, when the pitch is 800μm, the curvature radius is preferably about 350μm. In this bulkhead, a defect such as deformation or chipping is not detected from any part.
