The noise damper has an exterior casing (1) formed of cement or galvanised metal or stainless steel. It has a glass fibre layer (2) and an interior lining (3) of perforated metal or mesh. The damper is fixed (6) to the chimney outlet or it can be fixed between two pipes at the outlet to the hearth. The height of the damper is a minimum of half a metre.
