The cutting mechanism is incorporated into the disposable packaging used for food. The food package consists of a strengthened base (1), at the centre of which is an orifice (5), which is designed and provided to locate and secure a length of stainless steel wire (2). The free end of the wire is attached to a gripping handle (3), which is secured to the wire by means of the hole (8) in the handle. The base of the food pack can be double skin base and the outer rim can carry marks to indicate the weight of the cut section.
