<p>The present invention relates to a magneto-mechanical converter which comprises a magnetic system (2) as well as a core (3) having at least one of its parts (12, 22, 23) made of a magnetostrictive material. The magnetic system (2) comprises a magnetic field source (4) that may be mounted on a magnetic conductor (18), wherein a permanent magnet preferably consisting of several magnetic parts (17) is used as the magnetic field source (4). The core (3) and the magnetic system (2) are mounted in a body (1) so as to be capable of a relative reciprocating planar and parallel displacement. The modification of the magnetic flow in the core (3) causes a change in the linear dimension of the latter (3) during the relative displacement process. The device of the present invention is controlled using the change in the core (3) magnetic flow during the displacement of the geometric centre (14) of at least one of the core magnetostrictive parts (12, 22, 23). This displacement may for example be effected from the magnetic system (2) region corresponding to the magnetic field maximum intensity in said system (2) towards the region of the closest intensity node of said field. When maintaining the co-ordinates of an actuation organ (7) in a given position, the magnetic system (2) of the present invention does not use any energy from an external power source.</p> |
