The net is used to catch lightweight flying objects which may be thrown or carried along in a high wind. The net may be suspended from one or more sloping posts or masts. Each mast may be telescopic. A first, upper square-section or rectangular-section mast (1.2) can slide inside a second, lower square-section or rectangular-section mast (1.1). The mast stands on a square or rectangular foot (3) with weights to keep it standing firmly on the ground. The mast may be slightly inclined from the vertical toward the downwind direction and the net is attached to the top of the mast and is downwind of the mast.
