A covered cultivation vessel is filled with a mixture of compost and peat that has been seeded with mycelium and pricked with pins. This bed rests on top of a porous layer impregnated with water. A device (1) for growing fungi, preferably mushrooms, at home, comprises a cultivation vessel (2) and a prepared cultivation bed (3) consisting of compost cultivated with mycelium, and peat. The compost/peat weight ratio is 60-80:40-20. The cultivation bed has been pricked with pins and rests on top of a layer of porous material that has been impregnated with water. A plastic canopy (5) joined around the top rim (4) of the cultivation vessel contains ventilation holes (6) directly above the rim. The ventilation holes and cover (9) in the top of the canopy are opened at the start of cultivation. |
