The device has door parts (2) arranged between walls (1) with strengthening member (6) on the edge, and an elastomer type protective sealing device (5). Within in the device is a sender module (9) and a receiver module (10) which are controlled from a device which also controls opto-electronics and issues controls for braking or reversing of the direction of movement of the door. Sender and receiver form an opto-electronic device which form a light reflecting enclosure for infra-red light. A slight deformation of the sealing device alters the receiver signal level which is recognised by the electronic circuit and sends out a braking impulse.
