Agent for treatment of wood

Agent for treatment of wood with organic and/or inorganic active agents (especially insecticides, fungicides or dyes) comprises 0.005-5.0 wt.% of chitosan. The agent contains 0.1-3.0 (preferably 0.5-1.5) wt.% chitosan. The active agent may be, or may contain, one or more metal compounds (especially salts) and especially boron, copper or chromium. Alternatively, it may be, or contain, one or more organic agents e.g. ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid, nitrilotriacetic acid or a dye.
