The switch has a contact device displaced in the switch operating direction via a switch operating device (21) and displaced in the opposite direction by a safety cut-out element (22). A contact bridge carrier (2) is moved from the open position to the closed position via a switch wiper (9) pivoted about opposing bearing points (11,15) with the operating zone (19) for the contact bridge carrier between them. The switch operating device and the safety cut-out element cooperate with respective ends of the switch wiper.
