Object protection system especially for art objects

The object protection system includes at least one measuring and registering unit (2) which responds at least to the removal of an object (1) from its place. An evaluation unit (3) works in conjunction with the measuring and registering unit which includes a pyro sensor (4). The sensor works in a non-contact manner with the object. The distance (5) between the pyro sensor and the object is arranged at a maximum of 3 cm, preferably amounting to 0.5 to 1.5 cm. The measuring and registering unit works together with the evaluation unit in a non-contact manner.
