The invention concerns an applicator-holder comprising a case (2) inside which is mounted a thrusting mechanism (4, 17, 23, 24) capable of being actuated for selectively passing from an idle position inside the case (2), to an operative position in which the thrusting mechanism is capable of driving the applicator (12) which can move in translation in an axial channel (11) provided in a head (10) removably mounted on the said case (2), characterised in that it comprises means, when the head (10) is removed from the case (2), for automatically causing the thrusting mechanism to move up into the idle position.
