Drying printed matter produced by ink jet process

In connection with the drying process, the applied ink (5) is levelled off by pressure between two cylinders (1,2). For drying, the printed material is fed through the gap (3) between the two cylinders. One of the cylinders is hollow and is permeable to ultraviolet light. It has an ink-repellent surface. A fixed ultraviolet radiator (7) with a reflector (8) is arranged in the hollow cylinder. The material (4) is fed with the printed side facing the ultraviolet radiator. The second cylinder has an elastic surface.
