Large displacement linear position measurement system

The system has an inductive sensor arranged opposite a cam strip of defined scale, so that an analogue measurement signal corresponding to the position of the cam strip is produced when the sensor moves relative to the cam strip. The cam strip is integrated into a moving machine part. The cam strip can be expanded by an optional number of cams. The measurement signal is sinusoidal. A second sensor can be deployed to produce a measurement signal displaced with respect to the first measurement signal.
