Accommodation strips for the objects run next to the support belt and parallel to it. The transport track has successively arranged, equally long sections in relation to the conveyance direction. The height positions of the transport belt and the accommodation strips are adjustable in relation to one another. The accommodation strips at least forming the sections are divided. Each of the strip sections (18-20) is adjustable by lifting devices (28-34) between a position of its surface (21-23) accommodating the objects beneath the conveyor surface of the support belt and a position of this surface above the conveyor surface.
