A synthetic part made by injection moulding has a hollow thick place. A projecting rib or dividing wall (32) is moulded on to the inner wall of the hollow space (30, 31). Also claimed is a part with a hollow region of rectangular cross-section with dividing walls attached at right angles to the opposing walls. Preferably the mould has slides (9, 10) which are withdrawn after material has been injected into the initial mould space (16). At the same time gas is injected through openings (25, 26) to form the hollow spaces (30, 31). The slides (9, 10) and gas injectors (25, 26) operate together or in sequence.
