The strip-shaped support material can be withdrawn from a roll (2) via an introduction roller for application purposes. The applicator (3) is located in a housing (3.17) and in it a transport chain is arranged, comprising two double-strand, parallel arranged roller chains, guided in the area of one side of the inner wall of the housing. The parallel spacing of the chain double strands corresponds to the width of the support material on which the resin is to be applied. In the housing are two adjacent resin application stations, the first of which contains two pairs of first tunnel chain wheels. The second station also has two pairs of tunnel chain wheels (3.15) rotatably located on both sides of the housing. The teeth of these chain wheels are aligned with those of the corresponding double strands of the transport chain and their tooth division is identical with that of the transport chain.
