Exhaust gas recirculation control valve for internal combustion engine

The induction pipe is for an internal combustion engine. The pipe assembly is designed to allow exhaust gas recirculation. Air enters through a pipe (1) and passes into a mixing region where the recirculated exhaust gases are introduced. The exhaust gases pass through a side pipe into an annular chamber surrounding the air pipe and there are triangular ports (11) to promote turbulence and good mixing as the exhaust gases flow into the induction pipe. The triangular ports are cut in a sleeve (6) which may be moved axially to move the triangular ports into line with or out of line with square or rectangular ports on the inner side of the annular chamber. The rod (9) moving the sleeve passes through a bend in the induction pipe and is moved by an actuator (7) mounted on the outside of the pipe.
