Waste gas purification process

Waste gas purification process comprises feeding the I.C. engine (1) waste gas to a NOx storage (7), which is suitable for storing NOx from the waste gas under first operating conditions and releasing the stored NOx for reduction under second operating conditions. Via a waste gas recycle (4), a partial stream of the waste gas is fed to the air suction tract of the I.C. engine forming a waste gas partial stream/suction air ratio under the first conditions. This ratio is larger under the second operating conditions.
