<p>The method involves moving a vehicle or wheels with uniform speed. An inlet valve (3) of a wheel cylinder is controlled within a region of moved wheels with a valve opening signal. Braking effect that is caused due to the valve opening signal is determined based on antilock braking system (ABS)-wheel rotational sensors that are provided within a motor vehicle. The valve opening signal is represented by a current ramp or a sequence of current pulses. The valve opening current of the valve is increased gradually or in stages in sequential measuring routines.</p>
