The present invention pertains to a polishing machine for spectacle lenses, comprising a driven polishing disk, a driven lens holding shaft which can be tilted straight upward and downward and rotates about an axis at a distance from and perpendicular to the rotation axis of both the polishing disk and the lens holding shaft, as well as a polishing casing enclosing the polishing disk and the lens holding shaft and designed so as to be impervious to the liquid coolant squirting from the disk.
