The invention concerns an instrument for the safe encryption/decryption of messages exchanged between the users of a network of a plurality of users, each being able to transmit and receive an encrypted or sealed message. It is characterised in that it comprises for each user a device (E1) including an integrated circuit with memory zones (2, 3), a microprocessor (1) capable of executing an algorithm and of controlling access to these zones (2, 3) depending on the nature of the operation requested to the microprocessor by the operator who has the device and selected among operations involving encryption (6, 7), computing a key to be communicated (8) and decryption (9. 10), the memory zones (2 and 3) containing two types of masked base keys of which one base key (T11) of the first type is particular to each device (E1) and of which at least one base key (U2) of the second type is common to all the devices. |
