Covering fixture holes and drilling them in production of road vehicle wheels

A removal device (24) is provided on which the wheel (10) is so fitted that the cover components (22) through the force of gravity fall out of the screw bores of the fixture holes (11a,b). The cover components are ball-shaped or ellipsoidal and are fed from a storage container to a feed funnel (19) via a flexible connecting hose. A control device (27) is provided, which applies the feed funnel to the fixture holes. A measurement device assesses the number and arrangement of fixture holes of the wheel (10) and the assessed measurement values are fed to the control device which adjusts the feed funnel to the fixture holes.
