PRODUCTION OF SUSPENSION CULTURE CELL STRAIN

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prepare a suspension culture cell strain derived from a fish and to produce a vaccine and/or a diagnosing antigen for infectious fish diseases by culturing a fish-derived adherent culture strain under a specific condition. SOLUTION: A fish-derived adherent culture cell strain is subjected to subculture in a medium for a suspension culture while being acclimatized and a formed suspended cell is cultured with mild stirring so as to not cause deviation. A large amount of the fish-derived cells are cultured so as to mass produce a fish disease virus. A suspension culture cell strain (EPC/NIAH cell) (FERM P-15,793) is produced from a carp epithelioma-derived cell strain (EPC cell) and a suspended culture cell strain (EK-1/NIAH cell) (FERM P-15,792) from a Japanese ell kidney-derived cell strain (EK-1 cell).
