PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject composition capable of developing excellent 5α-reductase activity suppressing action and anti-propionibacterium acnes action and useful for preventing and treating male pattern alopecia, acne, etc., by including Sophorae radix extract. SOLUTION: This composition is obtained by compounding a facial cleansing agent, soap, cream composition, etc., with an extract of Sophorae radix [specifica1ly, dried powder obtained by washing and powdering the root of Sophorae radix, immersing the resultant powder in an extraction solvent (e.g. ethanol, glycerol, ethyl acetate, hexane, diethyl ether, dichloromethane or mixed solvent thereof) in an amount of about 10 times based on the powder under cooling for 5 day, filtering the extracted raw solution, concentrating the filtrate and drying the concentrate by freeze drying, etc.)]. Furthermore, the component A contains alkaloids such as (allo)matrine, oxymatrine and sophoranol and flavonoids such as isoanhydroicaritin, kurarinone and kuraridine in amount of 0.05-12.9wt.% and 0.005-11.3wt.%, respectively. |
