PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a device having a photosensitive reading function by adopting the constitute to drive org. electroluminescence (EL) elements to emit light in accordance with input signals, to irradiate these EL elements with light and to read out the voltages induced in the EL elements. SOLUTION: The input signals for making emissive display on a panel 207 are supplied from a video reproducing device, etc., to an A/D converter 201 and are stored in a frame memory 203. The stored data are sent to a writing circuit 205 and is supplied as driving pulses to the data lines of the panel 207 of the org. EL elements composed of a matrix. On the other hand, the respective scanning lines of the panel 207 are driven via a scanning circuit 206 by a controller 204.
