PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the lightfastness of dyes by containing a specific content of a soluble inorganic thiosulfate, a trithionic acid salt or tetrathionic acid salt, or an organic thiosulfate in the image receiving layer in an ink jet recording material having an image receiving layer containing a carrier and binder. SOLUTION: Ink jet recording material has a binder-containing image receiving layer; however, 2-200wt.% soluble inorganic thiosulfate, trithionic acid salt or tetrathionic acid salt or organic thiosulfate are contained in the image receiving layer with respect to the binder. Although alkali metal thiosulfate or thiosulfalic acid ammonium salt producing no volatile amines in contact with alkaline ink is used for preferable thiosulfate, they are available in a high molecular ammonium salt, e.g. a polymeric dialkyl ammonium salt. Also, tetrathionic acid salt ions can be combined with high molecular ammonium ions. |
