PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a separating device which can separate a control absorbing device easily before a lid of a nuclear reactor is removed. SOLUTION: A control rod 4 supporting an absorbing element 5 has an operational rod 37 and this is pushed upward by a washer 38 and an end 52 of a push bottom is projected. The control rod is lifted when the absorbing element is decided to be separated and tooth 62 of a ratchet 56 previously opened push the push bottom 52 down and the operational rod 37 is lifted down and a connecting ball 33 is allowed to be entered into a groove 35 in a bottom of the control rod and this separates a pommel 18 which has supported the absorbing element 5. In particular, it is applied to a pressurized water nuclear reactor core.
