A plasma display apparatus is provided to enhance sustain discharge efficiency by applying positive and negative sustain signals to one of scan or sustain electrodes while applying a bias signal to the rest of the scan or sustain electrodes. A plasma display apparatus includes a plasma display panel and a driver. The plasma display panel includes scan and sustain electrodes, which are formed in parallel with each other. The driver applies a positive sustain signal, which is increased to a first voltage(V1) higher than a ground voltage level, and a negative sustain signal, which is decreased to a second voltage(V2) lower than the ground voltage level, to one of the scan or sustain electrodes(Y,Z) during a sustain period, where the level of the first voltage is greater than that of the second voltage. |
