<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To switch tension distribution in the width direction of a magnetic tape depending on the running direction of the magnetic tape by remarkably simple constitution without an actuator. SOLUTION: This device winds obliquely the magnetic tape T around a part of a peripheral surface of a drum body 10, forms a slope track on the magnetic tape T by rotary magnetic heads Ha, Hb and records/reproduces a signal. In such a case, at least a piece of sliding piece 22 (23) brought slidably into contact with the range from the upper edge Ta to the lower edge Tb of the magnetic tape T, selectively turning depending on the running directions of the forward running and the backward running of the magnetic tape T by frictional force received from the magnetic tape T and changing the tension distribution of the magnetic tape T at a forward running time and the tension distribution of the magnetic tape T at a backward running time is provided in the vicinity of the drum body 10 in the path of the magnetic tape T.</p> |
