<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To start up a denitrification tank high in treating efficiency at an early stage in a biological waste water denitrification method in which nitrogen oxides such as nitrate in a sewage, night soil and various industrial wastes are reduced biologically and denitrificated. SOLUTION: In biological waste water denitrification method in which the nitrogen oxides-containing waste water is denitrificated by reducing biologically the nitrogen oxides in an anaerobic treating tank using a granular sludge, a methane fermentation bacteria granule and an activated sludge are filled in the anaerobic treating tank, and a denitrifying bacteria granule is formed in the anaerobic treating tank. A weight ratio of the methane fermentation bacteria granule to the activated sludge to be filled in the anaerobic treating tank is preferably 5:5 to 9:1.</p> |
