PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To inexpensively and more quickly manufacture a fixing roller with the discharge of the smaller quantity of volatile chemical matters by coating it with the coating material whose quantity is controlled so that it is attached to a supporting body by a spiral pattern. SOLUTION: A device 100 is provided with a guide 120 helping that coating solution 102 is correctly distributed along the outside circumferential surface 104 of a roll 48. Both of an applicator 112 and a blade 132 are installed on a slide 134 and arranged in an identical axial direction along the vertical axial line 116 of the device 100. The guide 120 is constituted so that the coating is uniformly distributed when the first surface 140 of the blade 132 is brought into tangential contact with the outside surface 104 of the roll 48. In such a case, the supporting body being cylindrical as a whole is prepared first. Next, the supporting body is rotated around the axial line 116. Then, the outside surface of the supporting body is coated with the paint 102 by the spiral pattern by using the guide 120 guiding the paint 102 to the outside surface of the supporting body. After the supporting body is perfectly coated with the coating solution 102, a coating film is ground until precise tolerance is obtained.
