PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a binder resin which can exhibit improved abrasion resistance and wetting performances when used in black ink and is desirably used for especially toluene intaglio printing ink by reacting a specified unsaturated hydrocarbon with a natural resin, anα,β-unsaturated carboxylic acid, a divalent- metal compound and a fatty acid under specified conditions. SOLUTION: This resin comprises recurring units derived from compounds selected from groups of (A) 4-10C di- or poly-unsaturated linear or branched or cyclic hydrocarbons and mixed or non-mixed oligomers thereof having a degree of oligomeration of 2-10, (B) natural resins or natural resin acids, (C)α,β-ethylenically unsaturated carboxylic acids and/or anhydrides thereof, (D) divalent-metal compounds and (E) fatty acids, respectively. This is obtained by reacting first component A with component B and reacting the formed copolymer with components C, D and E at 100-300 deg.C under the exclusion of water. |
