The cover housing consists of an upper part (1) to be inserted in the lower part (5). The smooth upper part surface is devoid of projections or indentations but has an inner ring or cam-shape projection (4) as compared with the lower part whose foot (7) projects upwards or outwards to offer resistance to lowering or raising and connects to a road or street anchorage. The lower part also has an upwards ring or cam (6) on its lower half so spaced from the bottom edge of the upper part as to enable it to be lowered by at least the thickness of the surface structure of the street or road or path etc at the cover location. The lower part expands conically starting from the annular gap of the part thus enabling the upper part to be set at angles as required. The outside of the upper part and the inside of the lower part are preferably suitably surfaced at the gap point and the rings or cams on the two parts can be raised or lowered by suitable tool. Once adjusted in height or level, spacers are inserted between upper part and ring etc to hold the top cover edge in required position.
