PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and a device by which an elevator cage is moved from one of a group of elevators to another by moving an elevator cage between elevator car frames arranged in the unadjacent hoistway and exchanging a pair of cages mutually. SOLUTION: In a plurality of express shuttle elevators, an elevator cage is exchanged on a transfer floor provided with a local elevator by means of a carriage 107, and its caster 93 is guided by means of a track 70. On the transfer floor, a primary side segment 60 of a linear motor LIM is arranged, while a secondary side 128 of the linear motor LIM is arranged in the carriage 107 so as to propel the carriage 107. For installation, the carriage 107 can be locked 91 on the transfer floor, and in the case of transfer, the cage can be locked 131 on the carriage 107 for stabilization. |
