PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To protect a data read speed from decreasing owing to an increase in the frequency of access to a specific array type file if one of array type files constituting a storage group gets out of order. SOLUTION: Redundant data are widely allocated to all groups (D1j1 , D2j2 ,..., Dnjn of m<n> areas, where (n) is the number of storage groups, (m) is the number of array type file constituting the storage groups, (D1j1 , D2j2 ,... Dnjn ) are groups of storage areas in the same lines of (ji )th array file in each storage group stored with data belonging to one redundant group. Consequently, the frequency of access to each array type file is normally uniform and data can be read out in the shortest time, but if one of the array type files gets out of order, the frequency of access to each array type file becomes uniform and a decrease in read speed can be suppressed. |
