FIELD: electrical engineering. SUBSTANCE: brush and contact unit of automobile generator has contact rings and brush holder with brushes mounted in protective branch pipe manufactured in the form of uniaxial cylinder and outer part, compactor of brush holder and member preventing cranking of outer race of bearing. Outer part of protective branch pipe has rectangular window with vertical flanging. Each pipe cylinder has compensators in the form of longitudinal grooves. Brush holder is fitted in midpart over perimeter with baffle with flanging along axis of grooves of brushes. Compactor has labyrinths in its upper and lower parts which follow configuration of flangings of baffle of brushholder and window of outer part of protective branch pipe. EFFECT: improved operational reliability, prolonged service life of brush and contact unit. 3 dwgu
