<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To directly access to a track number recorded on a disk at the reproduction and to shorten its track retrieving time by comparing a desired target track number and a present track number. SOLUTION: When reproducing operation of information recorded on the disk is started up, a mark signal is detected from a reproduced mark to confirm a present track position by a mark detecting and control part 26. Subsequently, a track information reading and control part 27 is informed of a desired target track number to specify a target track. Whether the present track where a pickup device is positioned is the desired target track or not is judged by the track information reading and control part 27, and if not, the moving direction and the number of tracks are decided. Consequently, a servo system 28 to be controlled is operated to move the pickup device into a retrieving track position. When the retrieved track is the target track, the track information reading and control part 27 is on standby for the next instruction.</p> |
