PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To authenticate a radio terminal without increasing time and labor and time for registering authentication information in a network constituted by connecting LANs having a radio network to a low-order network. SOLUTION: The network is composed of LANs 13, 14 and routers 10, 11 and a public network 12, and LANs 13 and 14 are connected to each other by the routers 10 and 11 through the public communication network 12. LAN 13 (14) is composed of a server 1 (2), a base station 3 (4) and radio terminals 5 to 7 (8 and 9). The radio terminals transmit a connection request consisting of the network address of a server authentication ID of a radio terminal, authentication data of the user of the radio terminal and the user of the radio terminal at the time of connecting to the network. When a server executing authentication in a connection request is its own server, the server directly executes authentication and when it is not its own server, the server asks authentication to a server to authenticate. At the time of receiving an authentication request from another server, the server executes authentication and returns the result of authentication.
