PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a multi-winding type hybrid stepping motor, a six-phase type hybrid stepping motor, and driving thereof which can improve positioning accuracy as well as reduction in the cost of a drive. SOLUTION: In a multi-winding type hybrid stepping motor, two sets ofΔtype three-phase windings 20, 21 byΔconnection are provided, using a phase difference ofθ/2 degree at an electrical angle to driveΔtype three-phase windings 20, 21 alternately with the three-phase drivers 23, 24 of a drive 22. It is possible to operate this motor at 12 steps in one cycle, namely, a stepping angle of 360 degrees/n/12.
