PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce intervention by a cashier. SOLUTION: A self-service terminal 18 has payment means, e.g. a means 22 for receiving payment with a card or cash and a paper money paying-out means 24 for providing a customer with cash by a method of a change or cash back, and displays the amount of payment for purchasing merchandise to the customer by an electronic control means which is disposed to decide the price of each item identified by means (16, 40 and 42) operable by the customer. The exit for customer is closed by a security gate 12, and the gate 12 opens corresponding to the execution of the payment of the total amount of money by the customer. Then, by using the terminal 16, an ATM(automatic trading machine) service is provided irrespective of checking-out transaction. |
