OPTICAL TRANSPORTING SYSTEM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical transporting system capable of transporting much light by increasing the photodetecting angle and photoirradiation angle of an optical fiber. SOLUTION: This system is constituted by arranging one end face of the optical fiber 2 as a light receiving surface in front of an artificial light source 1, introducing the other end of the optical fiber 2 to the space to be illuminated apart from the place where the artificial light source 1 is installed and transporting the light from the artificial light source 1 via the optical fiber 2 to the space to be illuminated. In such a case, the optical fiber 2 is constituted by integrally providing the outer peripheral surface of a core 21 with a clad layer 22 formed of the independent phase of a silica aerogel 23 consisting of a porous skeleton of silica or a composite phase of this silica aerogel 23 and gaps.
