<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To facilitate working and assembling and to reduce the size of a drum on the whole by providing a rotary transformer fixed to an outer ring so as to opposite to a fixed transformer coupled with a rotary drum. SOLUTION: The head drum consists of the rotary drum 42 provided above a fixed drum 41 to be rotated by a motor 40, a magnetic head 43 provided on this drum 42, a semispherical fluid bearing 50 provided between the drums 42 and 41 and the transformers 60 for transmitting or giving a signal of the head 43 to the drum 41. The transformers 60 are composed of the fixed transformer 62 fixed to the drum 41 and the rotary transformer 61 fixed to a bush 52. The head 43 is protruded through an opening window 6 formed in a part of an outer circumferential surface of the drum 42, and brought into contact with a magnetic tape under traveling to record and read information.</p> |
