PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device and a method for accessing a data base for obtaining an entry appropriate for specified inquiry and context. SOLUTION: In this access method of the data base provided with a plurality of entries, the respective entries are provided with a main entry 1 provided with an index word. An least one of the entries is provided with a first auxiliary entry 2 provided with a plurality of sets of words and they can respectively accompany the index word. In the method, when a text part provided with the plurality of words is inputted, the main entry 1 finds the position of the entry provided with the index word corresponding to the selected word of the text part (S10, S11, S17 and S18). In the case that the entry whose position is found is provided with the first auxiliary entry 2 provided with the plurality of sets of the words, one set of the words for which at least one word is present at least in a part of the text part is selected from the first auxiliary entry 2 (S12-S16). |
