ACIDIC COSMETIC AND/OR DERMATOLOGICAL COMPOSITION CONTAINING AT LEAST 90%-NEUTRALIZED CROSS-LINKED POLY(2-ACRYLAMIDE-2-METHYLPROPANESULFONIC ACID)

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject stable composition capable of dissolving acidic active substances, having gel appearance, containing a neutralized cross-linked poly(2-acrylamide-2-methylpropanesulfonic acid). SOLUTION: This composition comprises an acidic aqueous medium of <=pH5 and 0.01-20wt.% of one or more kinds of at least 90%-neutralized cross-linked poly(2-acrylamido-2-methylpropanesulfonic acid). The compound is such one that 90-99.9wt.% of unit of the formula (X<+> is a cation or its mixture; up to 10mol% of X<+> being proton: H<+> ) and 0.01-10wt.% of cross-linked unit formed from a monomer bearing at least two olefinic double bonds are randomly distributed. This composition can be used for beauty treatment of keratinous substances found esp. in the skin, hair and mucous membrane, being non- therapeutically used for decoloring the skin.
