A solar collector assembly comprising one or more solar collector units (9) of the one axis tracking type, each of which comprises an elongated solar collector device (12, 14) mounted on a support structure. The collector unit is mounted on the support structure (30, 33, 34) so that the tracking axis of the collector unit is inclined at an initial angle alpha with respect to the horizon and the longitudinal axis of the collector unit is inclined at an auxiliary angle beta with respect to the tracking axis, whereby when the solar collector device faces the zenith the longitudinal axis of the collector unit is inclined at a superimposed angle phi equal to alpha + beta , and at a predetermined stow position, the longitudinal axis is substantially parallel to the horizon. |
