PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the frequency of filtration or to eliminate the filtration by a method in which a complex metal cyanide complex catalyst, after being prepared by reacting a reaction product obtained by reacting metal halide with alkali metal cyanide in the presence of water with an organic ligand, is subjected to electrodialysis. SOLUTION: In the preparation of a complex metal cyanide complex which is used as a catalyst for the ring-opening reaction of monoepoxide such as alkylene oxide, metal halide is reacted with alkali metal cyanomethalate in the presence of water. In this process, the complex metal cyanide complex catalyst is treated by electrodyalysis after the preparation of the catalyst. An electrolytic cell having at least two chambers partitioned by a diaphragm is used in the elctrodialysis. Besides a porous membrane and an ion exchange membrane, a semipermeable membrane is used as the diaphragm. Usually, the complex catalyst is purified by deionization by the electrodialysis. |
